Mençuna Lodges sits at the entrance of Kamilet Valley in Arhavi, Artvin — directly across from the Mençuna Waterfall, one of the tallest cascades in Turkey’s Eastern Black Sea region at roughly 90 metres.
A mountain stream runs right in front of the lodges. It is the first thing you hear in the morning and the last thing you hear at night. In its shallow, calm stretches children can swim safely, and patient anglers will find trout a little further upstream.
Our waterfall-view bungalow suites are clad entirely in wood, measure 32 m², and have two separate bedrooms — comfortable for families and groups of up to five. Our stone lodge rooms are built from local stone with warm timber interiors, sleep two, and each opens onto a private veranda facing the waterfall.
Beech and chestnut forest, mist that settles into the valley at dawn, and no traffic noise at all. The walk to the waterfall itself takes 20–30 minutes from the car park, depending on your pace. Borçka Karagöl, the famous mirror lake, is about 70 km away — an easy day trip of roughly one hour by car.
We have opened a 36 m² restaurant fully enclosed in glass, along with a 50 m² open wooden terrace. A traditional wood stove keeps the indoor space warm on cool valley evenings. Breakfast is a regional Black Sea spread: village eggs, homemade jams, local cheeses, honey and unlimited tea.
Free private parking, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour hot water, and free use of the barbecue and kitchen. Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out at 12:00. We do not accept pets. Our season runs from 21 March to 30 November.
